About Me:
I'm a seminary student at Boston University School of Theology right now, working on my Master of Theological Studies degree. I'm also a certified candidate for deacon's orders in the United Methodist Church. Hopefully I'll be commissioned soon after graduation in May 2009!

I've known about my calling to youth ministry for a few years now, but lately God has been leading me in a more specific direction, camping and retreat ministry with youth and young adults. I have a passion for the retreat/camp setting and the opportunities available for ministry in that setting. I've done the local church thing, and I'm just not sure if it's my ideal niche, but I'm sure I'll do some more of it before this is all over!

If you really want to get an education, and you're considering seminary, then go somewhere in a different part of the country with a very different theological viewpoint. My experience here has been frustrating beyond belief, and there are days where I am unbelievably discouraged, but I see myself growing and learning in ways that I would never have been able to anywhere in the South. I'll be glad to talk to you about it.

I'm now engaged to the most wonderful man alive, and although right now I'm spending two years 1,200 miles away from him, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life doing ministry together. The wedding will be in June 2009, right after my graduation and (hopefully) commissioning!

I thought it would be interesting to me because it blends literature and youth ministry, but in reality, the theology and philosophy Arthur puts forward seems to be something that can really influence anyone's ministry. The basic idea (and I will NOT do this justice) is that story and imagination are essentially connected to Christiani… Continue

I love it at Mullins! I know every youth minister claims to have the best youth group in the world but my group truly is! They don't listen half the time, they are not " on fire for jesus" but they love each other and they love coming to youth. I have the best job in the world.

I"m glad it's a helpful site for you and you shouldn't have any problem finding a job when you are ready to do so--any place would be fortunate to have you.

just working hard to stay on the road. I'm actually working on making my way up to your neck of the woods in the fall and on into early next year. Perhaps you can help me make a few bookings in your area.
